About Vaultiks

Hi, I'm David. I built Vaultiks.

I've been skating since middle school, mostly park, growing up in Pennsylvania. These days I'm a structural engineer in Maryland, and the coding side of this is something I picked up on my own, figuring things out as I needed them.

Vaultiks started out of frustration. Every time I wanted a new deck I'd hear about something good, check the shop, find it gone, then start the search over somewhere else. I ride mostly decks and I wanted to actually know when the ones I care about were in stock and what they were going for across different shops, without the manual legwork.

The local shop piece mattered too. A lot of the best gear moves through smaller shops, and they deserve the visibility. Vaultiks isn't built to funnel everyone through the same handful of big retailers. Local independents are tracked alongside the majors and get equal billing.

A scraper runs against every shop we track once a day, recording the current price and whether each item is in stock. The same deck listed at five different shops becomes one product with five prices side-by-side, not five identical listings cluttering the catalog.

• 28 skate shops scraped daily, including national chains like CCS and a growing list of local independents. You can see the current set on the homepage.
• Every price change is logged. The “lowest ever” tag on a product means the lowest price we've actually recorded for that listing, not a marketing-inflated MSRP comparison. If you see it, it's real.
• Stock status is updated in the same pass, so out-of-stock listings drop out of deal rails automatically and don't waste your time.
• No sketchy marketplaces. No grey-market eBay listings, no third-party Amazon sellers, only direct skate shops. That's a deliberate choice to keep prices comparable and the gear legit.
• Watchlist email alerts. Add a product to your watchlist and Vaultiks will email you when the price drops or it's back in stock somewhere.
